Past Pupils

Arthur Cracknell (1947)

Member of the School Choir; "Sir Toby Belch" in the School production of "Twelfth Night" in 1946; took part in several other plays; member of School Air Training Corps; member of various School Clubs

I was on the School field when the V2 landed in 1944. The three boys affected were all of my age. Harry Poulton, who was killed, was in my class and a Scout. He had a younger brother at the School; Peter Goodman, who was also killed, was in the School Army Cadet Corps.

The only Old Grammarian of whom I am aware who achieved anything of national importance was Derek Burrell, who was Headmaster of Truro School, and was appointed Vice President of the Methodist Conference. He had a brother who was also at T.G.S.
