Past Pupils
Danny Shadbolt (1977)
Bill (We Bills woble but we wont fall down) Tunley, AKA `Nutter`.
I left the school april/may 77. I do remember setting the alarm off for the fire, and the following hoard of policemen that came round to my mums to hear me say I smoke for the first time, I was cleared after an electrical fault was found to be to blame.
Some of the names came back to me, Dave Abbott, Paul Manning, Paul Norris, but not many more. As soon as I left school I joined the army and never moved back to the area, so I lost all contact with everyone (not a bad thing with some of the crew we had there) that I was pals with.
I remember going to the park (Lordship rec.) to fight William Fosters, going to St. Angelas, taking over the bus by throwing the conductor off at Wood Green, and the whole school being the dredge of Green Lanes, good times......
Some of the names that come to mind.....
Lorenzo John, Steve Bantam, Tony Steel, Steve Newby, Andy Thackery, Everet Dixon, Lionel Braithwaite and the teacher Steve Abbott. The only man I still talk to at least twice a month, Allan Haley.
As for Tunley I caught many a desk and even more blackboard rubbers, chalk, his glasses case and even a shoe.
