Dave Grainger (1946)

Dave Grainger who died on 13 March 2002 was one of the finest all-rounders T G S has ever produced. A member of both the 1st XV and Cricket XI and a record breaking javelin thrower. He reached high rank in the ACF and was School Captain in his final year. He trained as a teacher and enjoyed a successful career. He was a valued member of the Old Grammarians RFC and a founder member of them Tottenham Old Grammarians Cricket Club. Quite apart from his sporting prowess Dave was genuinely nice man. In his later years he developed Parkinson's Disease which he dealt with as anyone who knew him would expect writing a book about his experiences of the disease.
