Past Pupils

David Langlands (1961)

It was interesting looking up some old names. One of them even went to my junior school and it was strange to read all the names of past teachers. It was 50 years ago!

Anyway back to TGS.I was in Bruce House which at my time was the weakest house for sport at my time. I left in 1961 I am still in touch with Richard Hornowski an old class mate who now resides in Canada and is involved in real estate. We meet up every two years when he comes over to visit family and we get together for drinks etc.

David Shorer who also was with me at Downhills junior school and went with me to TGS. he has recently taken early retirement from London Borough of Tower Hamlets

Graham Mingay who I contacted some time ago when Rick Hornowski came over but haven't seen recently He at that time was working on the South coast for a Building Society. I will have a look tonight at the school photo taken in 1959 to remind me some others. You are of course aware that the school no longer exists but there is a Tottenham Grammar School foundation which funds from the sale of the land various educational projects in Haringey.

I meet them from time to time when they have functions such as Founders day services at the Abbey. I went to the the centenary of Sarah Duchess of Somerset's death at the Abbey and we had supper afterwards. Laurie Cooper and Doug Collins were there and we all sang the school song afterwards (not a dry eye in the house) It was very moving.

Laurie Cooper has since died of course very sad as he was totally devoted to the school.

I now live in Richmond. A world away from Tottenham although I go back from time to time with my daughters to show them, what the real world is like and of course am still an avid Spurs fan.

After 25 years in the city as a money broker I am now working for a management company I Won't bore you with details.

Foy pour devoir.
