Howard Alun Jones (1966)

I left TGS in 1966 and have not been to any subsequent reunion. I am still in frequent contact with two ex alumni who also left in 1966 - Roy Laverick and Robin Barnet (Indeed we are meeting for a lads curry evening next Tuesday - a tradition which we have kept up pretty much since leaving school!).

I don't recognise any of the names on the list except Nigel Love.

My own brief autobiographical details are that having left TGS I studied Economics at the University of Wales in Cardiff and eventually went on to become a teacher and lecturer in Economics. I am twice married and have a grown up family of three children. Currently

I am M.D. of the internet publishers "Barking Jones Associates" and I live in bovine contentment with my current wife Annie plus a cat and a dog in Harpenden Hertfordshire.

I have many memories of TGS - many good but not all of them fond. Reg Witt was Headmaster during my time and I certainly remember characters such as Frank and Harry Thomas, "Toby" Topham, Michael "Bockers" Porter, and John "Fred" Fear.

I remember with particular affection "Fatty" Davis who managed to enthuse me sufficiently about Economics to take it up. I am sure between the three of us that we have a pool of personal anecdotes which I wont bore you with but may be worthy of inclusion on you intended site.
