John Beckford (1954)

With regards to the demolition of the Creighton Road site (See colour photo below), John wrote  - 

"In my day (1950 - 1954) this was the junior playground so I can vividly recall my first day there. I can remember skulking nervously around because there was then a tradition of "firsties" being baptised in the toilets by second-formers"

John Beckford, died on Saturday 10th July at age 72.
