Past Pupils
Michael Mosser (1966)
I left TGS in 1966 having been in the same class as Jeff Herford and Roger Ingolgby among many others. I still have contact with Jeff who discovered this site and has been nagging me to put my details on it. I was particularly pleased to see Roger's name on it as he had been my best man at my wedding and we had lost contact.
My memories of TGS are not all that bad. We had a number of real characters as teachers and many were quite dedicated to their jobs. I remember particularly Michael de bock Porter who taught English but also was an Officer in 1571 Squadron ATC at the school.
I can remember driving lessons in his old Morris Minor around the school playground on a Friday evening! I was pleased to hear that Bill Tunley was still alive but saddened to hear that Ken Beddall had died. I remember him confiscating my portable radio whilst queuing outside the Chemistry laboratory at a critical point in an England v West Indies test Match only to see notes handed to him at regular intervals by the lab assistant whose name escapes me. the truth being that he was as interested in the score as I was and before the end of the lesson he announced the result!
I would like to hear what happened to others in my class for instance where are Graham Clark and Dick Moore now?
