I'm now trying hard to remember the classes I was in........I think they were:

64/65.....1C

65/66.....2G

66/67.....3L

67/68.....4a3

68/69.....5a3

69/70.....Lower 6th

I can distinctly remember my first Form Teacher (1C) as being Mr. Millard, who was a very correct (of the flowing gown brigade) English Teacher, probably in his last year before retirement, and the Head Masterbeing Mr. DeWitt.

Some of the other teachers that really stuck in my mind were: John Fear.......a giant 6ft+ ginger haired Music Teacher who used every opportunity to ram home the 'school song'....which I still remember to this day.

Bill Tunley......a totally mad French teacher who would often hurl a wooden blackboard rubber the length of the classroom, at head height, to stop you talking......how no-one was ever seriously injured I'll never know....either he was an expert shot or very lucky.

Abdul Mohammed.....an Egyptian Biology teacher who (so we were later told) was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the country, and was never seen at the school again.

I can vaguely remember Nicky Horne (DJ of some fame now) being involved in building a recording studio (thousands of egg trays stuck to the walls) in an attic above the Physics Lab, only for some hooligans to get in and wreck it.......I think he also used to DJ the occasional dance with the Tottenham High Cross Girls School (next to the Tottenham Royal).

'Dick' Yarrow, a well liked Physics teacher, had this strange 3 wheeler (Del Boy variety) with a motorbike engine that he used to have to kick-start. He was a keen sports fan and during one of our lessons, which coincided with Ann Jones' Wimbledon Final (1969), he dragged out a portable TV for us all to watch the match.........best Physics lesson we ever had.

Although I never had Schlartz as a teacher, I was victim of his 'sideburn lift' after being caught running between lessons, he had this knack his lifting you onto your toes and dragging you the length of a corridor......a painful experience.
