Past Pupils

Ron Segall (1954)

I left the school in 1954 and went on to Imperial College to take an Aero Engineering degree.

My two late brothers, Max and Jack also went to TGS before the war and both left in 1939 at the outbreak of war. They originally went to the buildings which were in the High Road, near High Cross. The buildings at White Hart Lane were opened, to the best of my knowledge in 1937.

Laurie Cooper was my maths master in the 5th and 6th forms, and went on to become the head of Somerset School.

I last saw him some 4 years or so ago when there was a celebration to mark his 70 years association with the school, but unfortunately he died some 2 years ago.

I went on from being Flight Sergeant of the Squadron to becoming a civilian instructor for several years whilst I was at college and was elevated to the lofty heights of sharing and using the Officers Mess!

I am still living in the London area, in the Borough of Harrow, and have many regrets on the rare occasions that I drive past White Hart Lane to see the campus for Middlesex University, rather than the old buildings.
