Past Pupils

This is the smarmy looking smug so and so of the time (shares in Brylcreem)Roy Goodman (1965)

"I studied chemistry in Leeds University- shared a flat with Alan West of TGS- and after my BSc stayed on to do a PhD in physical chemistry. Our old chemistry Master Mr Bedall would have been pleased (and almost certainly surprised!) I wrote to him expressing my gratitude for his skills and he replied with a charming letter.

I moved to the University of Kent at Canterbury and did 2 years post-doctoral  research in the chemistry department, before giving up on the academic path and selling out to industry. I got a job in Cornwall working in the Research and Development lab of English China Clays, rising and falling as the company grew and shrank.

I worked part time for a few years and finally retired in 2009. Did an MA in history of art in 2007, and am now about to enrol for an MA in photography at Plymouth Uni. Can't stop studying!

I married a wonderful girl who I met in Leeds, Pauline, and we have two children, James and Hannah, who now live and work in London.

James now has a 2 year old son, and Hannah is due her first in April. Just when you think you've got rid of nappies....

Other interests: painting (my contemporaries may remember my fascination: go to www.roygoodman.co.uk if interested) and believe it or not relationship counselling (worked for Relate for 26 years). Used to be interested in acting, but after TGS never took to the boards again.

I have re-established contact with several old boys recently...Peter Stefanini and Nigel Gotteri in particular. Recommend doing the same to others."
