St Angelas` School building

In March 1975, when a huge fire damaged parts of the Upper School building, the 3rd and 4th year pupils were moved by Haringey Education Authority to the vacant site of St. Angelas` School, in Earlham Grove, Wood Green.

The cramped site was situated opposite Woodside Park, which on sunnier days was used for outdoor PE. During colder weather we used the cramped (Compared to what we were used to at the Upper school) hall.

The site as you can see from the picture on the left is now used at a community centre for the local Cypriot residents.

There was no room for school dinners to be served, so pupils having dinner at school had to make the short trip to nearby Earlham Grove Junior School.

On January 22nd 2003, during the National Firefighters strike, this building was also gutted by fire. Army fire teams tackled the blaze, and were later joined by firefighters. The roof was destroyed.
